Career
Working with parents and children
She holds a master's degree in Clinical Psychology from ISPA (Instituto Universitário de Ciências Psicológicas, Sociais e da Vida) and is a full member of the Portuguese Board of Psychologists (Ordem dos Psicólogos Portugueses).
At ISPA she also completed a course in Cognitive Behavioural Therapies, focused on work with children, adolescents and adults.
At Ribesa her work centres on parenting: she supports parents and children, works to reduce the harm caused by separation and divorce, and promotes positive co-parenting. When a family comes to the firm over parental responsibilities (page in Portuguese), she looks at how the children are experiencing the process. She does not give legal advice; that is the job of the firm's lawyers.
She also sees children, adolescents and adults for psychology consultations, carries out psychological assessments and works on mental health and wellbeing in the workplace. In addition, she is a parent educator certified by the Positive Discipline Association and is certified by the Portuguese Board of Psychologists to assess the psychological fitness of security staff.
“To understand what someone says, it is not enough to understand their words; you must also understand their thinking and their motives.”
